Do you ever wonder how many hours we waste in life searching for a movie to watch or TV shows to binge? It would probably be a surprisingly high number. After catching up on current TV shows, I wanted to shout out the ones that I watched this year, some for the first time ever and from start to finish.
22 Shows I Binge-Watched in 2020
Netflix TV Shows
Drama
Ratched
This series is a prequel to a novel we’ve all probably read in school, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Starring Sarah Paulson, this thriller series discusses Nurse Ratched’s story as she finesses her way through a mental health facility. The first season is available to watch on Netflix.
Ozark
As a suburban family gets into the money laundering business, their lives do a 180 as they navigate through a new reality. I thought the first season was slow but it picks up by the second.
Outer Banks
I definitely got peer pressured into watching this series. I wasn’t mad at it, just wanted more out of it. But overall, it was a much needed story of a treasure hunt and mysterious tactics in the outer banks.
Cartoon
The Legend of Korra
One of my favorite parts about quarantining was binge-watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. I have never seen The Legend of Korra all the way through, so I was excited to have a chance to watch it.
Reality TV
Too Hot to Handle
What in the reality television was this? None of these couples are together in real life anymore, right?
Love is Blind
At least Lauren and Cameron were able to find love this year.
Selling Sunset
After being late to the party with this show, I was happy to start it in the fall. I loved the drama and seeing the gorgeous houses. A part of me wants more seasons now.
Black Ink Crew: New York
Tattooing is my new favorite thing. I even got a tattoo kit for Christmas. I have always heard about this show but haven’t gotten the opportunity to watch it until Netflix added it. This was more hilarious and drama-filled than expected.
Docuseries
Jeffery Epstein: Filthy Rich
The disgusting look inside this operation.
Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness
Who else remembers this part of quarantine? This was crazy, to say the least.
Cheer
Although I had little desire for this show, that changed after watching it. Cheerleaders are strong and they work hard consistently. It was wild to see what this sport does to their bodies.
Murder Mountain
It can be so eerie not knowing what goes on without our knowledge.
Hulu TV Shows
Cartoon
Over the Garden Wall
Fall was the perfect time to watch this mini-series! It was short and sweet and told a good story. This show increased my imaginary skills and I love that for me.
Drama
Scream Queens
I’ve always wanted to watch this show since I always found memes of it on Twitter, and finally got around to it. It was funnier than I thought it would be.
Reality TV
Unexpected
Thanks to TikTok, I watched this series on Netflix and my oh my is it funny! This show is a perfect example of why sex education should be taken more seriously in America.
Intervention
Topics that I have been looking into while in quarantine are addiction, the drug epidemic, and how addiction harms families. It’s been on my mind throughout this year and I always think it’s a good idea to explore things we are unfamiliar with.
Celebrity Family Feud
When I lived with my parents, I would watch Family Feud every night with my dad while eating dinner. Catching up on the celebrity version while eating dinner solo has been a gem in quarantine.
The Real Housewives of New York
I caught up on a few seasons of RHNY that I missed. The New York housewives are some of the top on my list.
The Real Housewives of Potomac
How come it took me this long to start RHOP?! The drama, the comedy, the wigs–please do yourself a favor and watch this!
YouTube TV Series
MTV Unfiltered: Tana Turns 21
Unhealthy coping mechanism? Watching influencers online and their TV shows. This is chaotic so if you’re into that, this show is for you.
Ink Master
As mentioned before, tattooing is my new hobby so I of course had to watch Ink Master from start to finish.
Bar Rescue
When I think about pre-COVID and all the bars I went to in college, I almost throw up. Bar Rescue made me realize that I should not go to disgusting bars, pre-or-post-pandemic.
